We are going to explain How To Place A Bet On A Horse Race In The Future in this simple ‘how to’ guide. You might have seen in an earlier Betfanatic article that I mentioned placing a bet on a race due to take place in several months time. This allows you to take advantage of sometimes cracking odds, especially if you have inside information like us – and are fairly certain that the odds will be much lower come the off.

ANTEPOST – No I’ve not been taking classes in Latin, the Antepost Section is where you need to look on Betfair to find all those lovely future horse races. Once you’ve logged in and navigated to the Horse Racing Section, you will see the Antepost link on the left hand side.
If you are struggling to locate the Antepost Section, click on All Sports, and then Horse Racing, and then the “ANTEPOST” link should show up on the list.
Once you click on Antepost you will see a list of future Horse Racing events and be able to choose the meeting that you want to place your bet on. For this guide I’m placing a bet on the Grand National 2011. So I click on GB, then on Aintree 2011.
I am tipping Denman as a possible strong contender in the Grand National. A 15 time winner and as you’ll see in the image below, you can grab a bet on Denman at odds 15/1 (16.5), an example of stunning Early Odds.
You can go ahead and place a bet by clicking on the blue square next to Denman, filling in your stake in the betting window and clicking confirm bets.
