Premier League Kick Off

Premier League Kick Off

Once again the start of the season is rapidly upon us, The Premier League Kick Off happens on the 14th of August 2010. After a dismal World Cup, English football fans can one again have something to get excited about; This is great news for us because as always in football betting the average fans’ heart rules their head – and we can make a huge amount of money.

Premier League News

Liverpool have signed England ace Joe Cole on free transfer for this season. Jamie Carragher believes his club can now move forward and start to play top flight football. The England pair have placed together on several occasions and this should help to firm up the team, Cole is a world class player and can only bring with him a positive change as a disappointing seventh place in last years table spurred on a change of leadership.

Roy Hogdon has now taken the rains from despondent Rafa Benitz and Liverpool looks to be stronger than in the last two seasons. I don’t think they will have the pace and stamina to take the title this year, although a top four finish could be on the cards and on Betfair, the UK’s Premier Online Bookmaker, the odds of a top 4 finish are great at 4/1 (3.0).

Manchester United have not been busy during the transfer session – just two new faces have been added before the Premier League Kicks Off in the form of Chris Smalling and Mexican Javier Hernandez. These two are untested in top flight football and the focus must be on the future rather than now.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been quoted as saying:

“I am comfortable with my current Manchester United squad and am unlikely to make any more additions. We bought players at the right time of the season and we are happy with what we have. United are not concerned with the exploits of other Premier League Clubs, and intend to keep our focus locked solely on events at Old Trafford.”

There seems to be a fresh, calm air over Manchester United at present – a team full of experience and passion. Early Odds are great on Betfair for the win too at 5/1 (4.0).
