Ffos Las Racecourse has brought back top class racing back to West Wales for the first time since 1937. You can find it in the heart of Carmarthenshire between the towns Llanelli and Carmarthen, only 15 minutes from junction 48 of the M4, and only an hours drive from the Irish Ferry terminals of Pembroke Dock and Fishguard.
The setting is magnificent. It is surrounded by rolling hills and countryside and has a view down the Gwendraeth Valley to Carmarthen Bay. It is almost impossible to believe that it is the former site of the largest open cast coal mine in Europe.
The Ffos Las Racecourse opened on 18 June 2009 when it held its first race meeting to a sell-out crowd of 10,000, there will be around 28 race meetings (12 flat and 16 jumps) run each year and this includes a three day Flat programme in August and a two mile £60,000 conditions race.
The track provides a racing surface to rival any course in the world. It is 60m wide, has the benefit of miles of drainage and has been created level to provide a superb track to race on and a great viewing track for the race-goer.People from all walks of life find racing easy to understand and it becomes immediately enjoyable. The intervals between races provide just the right time for socialising. The pleasant mix of food, drink and conversation does not mean missing the action and the race day experience is perfect for establishing and developing rewarding friendships.

Bridles Restaurant at Ffos Las Racecourse boasts a 200 seat capacity and enjoys some of the best views of any racecourse. The 3m wide balcony looks directly onto the track and finish line, and you have Tote betting facilities within easy reach of your table.
Blacksmiths’ Bar & Restaurant offers some of the best views of Ffos Las, located near the Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure in a Luxury Marquee you have full facilities to enjoy the racing and dine in style.
Open to all, this lively bar offers a full range of drinks, as well as light snacks sausage rolls, pasties, pies. It is the perfect location to plan your next move between races.
Ffos Las Racecourse Hospitality
Ffos Las has eight hospitality suites that overlook the finish line or the parade ring from the first floor of the main stand. The capacity of each box is 20 for a sit down meal and 25 for a buffet. It will also be possible to house larger groups of up to 100 within the stand because the boxes are linked by dividing walls which can be opened out to form one large hospitality suite. It is the perfect location for whatever you need to accomplish.

From the east take Junction 48 (M4) joining the A4138 to Llanelli and follow the brown signs. From the west, follow the A40 to Carmarthen, then the A484 to Llanelli and follow the brown signs.
