Fontwell Park Racecourse - Racing

Fontwell Park stages a variety of meetings throughout the year – there is a choice of mid-week fixtures plus weekend and evening fixtures that combine the excitement of racing with live entertainment such as tribute bands and lots of activities for the children.

One of two figure-of-eight steeplechase courses in the country (the hurdles track is a left-hand oval) and a track that stages the valuable National Spirit Hurdle Fontwell Park really brings the excitement up close. The key fence on the steeplechase course is the plain obstacle opposite the stands at the beginning of the back straight; the fence has a slight drop to it and horses often quicken on the approach. A good jump here can gain five lengths.

Fontwell Park Racecourse Dress Code

Depending on which enclosure you are in the dress code at Fontwell Park Racecourse differs, so we highlight both below.

The Premier Enclosure – the policy is ‘smart casual’. Men should wear collared shirts. A tie is not essential. Smart jeans and tailored shorts are acceptable (they must not be ripped or torn). We do not permit jogging bottoms, fancy dress, sports or beach wear, non tailored shorts and trainers. Many customers get dressed up and make an effort on feature race days.

The Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure – there is no dress code in this enclosure apart from in the hospitality suites where the same policy as the Premier Enclosure applies.

A great fun day of racing is to be had at Fontwell Park Racecourse and the entire Betfanatic team recommend it to you as a place to visit.
