Just to the south of Glasgow, in Scotland – Hamilton Park Racecourse brings a special touch to the years horse racing calendar. With two major races being run over the year, Hamilton Park is a must visit for any serious horse racing fan.

Hamilton Park Racecourse opens at 12:00 and you should aim to arrive at the venue at least an hour before the first race. This will give you time to arrive at your chosen area, find any restaurants you may need – and relax before the excitement of the racing begins.

When you enter the racecourse you should look to buy a race programme for the day. This will provide all the information on the runners and riders for each race, as well as outline all the facilities available within the racecourse.

Have a walk around the racecourse, familiarize yourself with the layout while it is still quiet, maybe have a drink and take a few minutes to look through the runners for the day highlighting any horses you like the sound of and may place a bet on later.

You can also enjoy visiting the Parade Ring, or watching the horses race past you at the trackside as this can be an exciting part of the race day experience.

The Parade Ring: Before each race you are able to visit the Parade Ring to see the horses parade. This is also where the Jockeys arrive to “mount up” before heading down to the start.

The Betting Ring: Before each race you can visit the Betting ring where you can bet with one of the racecourse bookmakers, who offer a variety of odds on the runners for each race.

Trackside Viewing: From the Club or Grandstand enclosure you are able to watch the racing live from the trackside – witness the exciting finishes from up close on the rails and cheer home your horse. also provided are large screens on all race days making the viewing of the whole race easy from both enclosures.

The Winners Enclosure: After each race you can enjoy watching the winning and placed horses return to the winners enclosure where they meet their owners and trainers. A presentation to the winning owner will also take place after each race in the Winners Enclosure.

At Hamilton Park Racecourse you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to eating and drinking. Every possible taste is provided for, split between two enclosures you really will be impressed by the variety and style here.

Club Enclosure

Dukes Restaurant:
Relax in the comfort and style of the Dukes Restaurant. Ideal for smaller parties, the Dukes Restaurant is situated on the first floor of the Grandstand, offering amazing panoramic views of the track through its floor to ceiling glass windows. Bookings must be made at least one week prior to the race meeting.

Dukes Bar:
This stylish bar is located on the first floor of the grandstand offering views across the racecourse from its floor to ceiling windows. A full bar and totepool betting facilities are provided.

The Silks Bar:
Built in 2007, this luxury bar serves champagne as well as a wide range of new and old wines and bottled beers. Soak up the summer sun by enjoying your drinks from the outside patio, with views across to the track.

Racing UK Bar:
New in 2010, the Racing UK Bar replaced the Barndon Bar in the Club Enclosure. This is the ideal bar to take in the action on the big screen or simply drop in for a quick drink between races! In addition to the above all Club Badge holders have access to the Grandstand facilities.

Grandstand Enclosure

Conservatory Cafe Bar:
This family friendly bar looks out over the Paddock Lawns and is the ideal place for the family to relax and enjoy a range of freshly prepared food and hot and cold drinks whilst taking in the day’s events. There is also introduced a children’s soft play area for under 4′s. Children must be supervised at all times within the play areas.

Panorama Bar:
Renovated in 2009 to extend the length of the bar area and speed up customer service times, this popular bar is used for its fantastic viewing and betting facilities.

Bravehearts:
Previously known as Joe Punters, this bar was refurbished and given the new name of Bravehearts in 2007. This busy bar is located on the ground floor of the grandstand beside the Totesport betting shop. A popular drinking hole with regular racegoers between races.

Cats Bar:
Located on the Ground Floor next to the Conservatory Cafe Bar a full bar is provided with sandwiches and snacks available.

The Paddock Lawn:
There is a full range of food and drink outlets available on the Paddock Lawn with a large selection of outdoor furniture allowing you to enjoy the best of the sunshine. On busier fixtures an open air BBQ will offer a choice of home made burgers with themed and bottle bars providing additional service areas, allowing you to avoid the queues of the main bars within the Grandstand.

Hamilton Park Racecourse Directions

Hamilton Park is easy to get to with excellent road networks providing easy access from the M74 and M8 motorways. There is free public car parking at Hamilton Park Racecourse, but please remember to leave plenty of time when planning your journey as the routes around the racecourse can become very busy in the lead up to gates opening and the first race.

By Car: From the West – M74 leave at Junction 5, at the roundabout take the Hamilton exit and follow brown signs.

: From the East – M8/A8 leave at Bellshill/East Kilbride exit A725. Follow signs to M74. At the roundabout (junction 5 of the M74) take the Hamilton exit and follow brown signs.

By Train: Hamilton West is the nearest trains station located about 15 minutes walk from the racecourse.

Hamilton Park Racecourse Dress Code

There is no dress code at Hamilton Park, however Corporate guests are encouraged to dress smart. Denims and shirts are welcome but strictly no football colours or trainers.

Cash for Kids, Ladies Night and evening meetings are a great excuse to glam up, and our path ways across the lawns make it possible for those wearing heels.
