Racing At Ludlow Racecourse

Racing at Ludlow takes place over about 16 meetings per year, which are mainly held mid-week. A Right-handed chase course flat with sharp bends, running for about 1m4f – and a Hurdles track which is about 150y longer, slightly undulating, with easier bends. A strong horse with good run-in pace is usually favoured here.

A wide track overlooked by an impressive grandstand, Ludlow has a reputation for delivering especially fast races, testing the horses speed rather than stamina. While some seasoned punters may frown at this, these races are extremely exciting to watch when snobbery is put aside.
