Crowds At Market Rasen Racecourse

The course at Market Rasen is a right-handed oval with a circumference of around one and a quarter miles. Racing takes place here all year round, and some wonderful national hunt races have chosen Market Rasen Racecourse as their home.

Its most high-profile fixture is the Summer Plate meeting, normally staged on the third Saturday in July. This features the two-and-a-quarter miles Summer Hurdle and the eponymous Summer Plate, a two-and-three-quarter miles chase, both of which are among the most valuable National Hunt races staged in Britain during the summer months.

Market Rasen Racecourse has three enclosures – each having access to a variety of facilities for eating and drinking as well as betting.

The County Enclosure:

Visitors to the County Enclosure can enjoy the best of all worlds, whether as a Daily, Premier or Annual Member the County Enclosure is the place to be. There are fantastic views of the course, with sloping lawns to the Parade Ring, that are well populated with seating. There is also the option to buy a Premier Members Admission. This is admission into the County Enclosure with exclusive access to the Annual Members and Premier Members Bar. The County Enclosure has a selection of great bars and eating areas:

Brocklesby Suite Restaurant and Bar
The award winning a la carte Restaurant and Bar can be found on the first floor opposite the Winners Enclosure. Inclusive Brocklesby Suite Packages are available from £62.50 per person. This really is the place to be.

County Bar
A great bar to watch the racing from and to enjoy a meal from the buffet. There is plenty of space outside on the terrace to watch the racing, and the buffet features daily specials in addition to the great hot baguettes.

Lanson Green Champagne & Seafood Bar
With Champagne available from only £25 a bottle throughout the course, the Champagne Bar offers a great space to enjoy a glass or two of fizzy, with a wide selection of seafood options, hot or cold to accompany it.

Weigh In Cafe Bar
A new bar offering baguettes, speciality coffee, beers and wine by the glass.

The Tattersalls Enclosure :

In the heart of the Racecourse, the Tattersalls Enclosure includes the Parade Ring, Winners Enclosure, Weighing Room and Pre-Parade Ring. There is plenty of activity, a thriving betting ring, a busy Tote and some great facilities:

The Tote Exacta Bar
A fabulous bar with panoramic views of the Racecourse through its floor to ceiling windows.

The Red Rum Bar
An excellent hot buffet facility, with daily specials, and a view of the Pre-Parade Ring. It is a great place to enjoy a drink or two and watch the racing.

There are excellent viewing areas – with the Tattersalls Grandstand, the Press Room Roof, and the newly incorporated area of the Family Enclosure Grandstand. Plenty of space to enjoy the action.

The Family Enclosure:

Family friendly with a Bouncy Castle and other entertainments on most meeting (excludes weekdays). It Includes two Picnic Car Parks so that an armchair view of the racing can be enjoyed. Great catering, with:

Market Rasen Racecourse Directions

Market Rasen Racecourse is easy to find via the M1, A1 and A46, the racecourse is well signposted on the east side of Market Rasen alongside the A631.By Rail, you are looking for the Railway Station – Kings Cross, on the Cleethorpes line. Market Rasen Station is 10 minute walk from the course.

Market Rasen Racecourse Dress Code

In the County Enclosure smart dress is a requirement. Jackets and ties are not obligatory neither are hats or dresses, but racegoers wearing scruffy/ripped denim, beachwear, unduly casual or extreme attire will not gain entry to the County Enclosure. In hot weather tailored shorts are permitted.

Racegoers in the Tattersalls Enclosure usually dress smartly. Smart shorts and jeans are acceptable but no bare tops or singlets please.

Dress in the Family Enclosure is generally casual.
