Redcar Racecourse

Redcar Racecourse

The unique atmosphere created at Redcar Racecourse, coupled with excellent facilities, guarantees that you’ll have a truly memorable day out. Redcar, Yorkshire’s seaside track, is oval-shaped and perfectly flat. Set in 72 acres within easy reach of Redcar high street, Redcar Racecourse is easily accessible by road, rail and air and has ample parking. A testing run for most horses, Redcar can always throw up a surprise and in our opinion is great for producing some very long priced winners.

Redcar Racecourse - Parade Ring

Industrial Teeside may not seem an appropriate venue for a racecourse, however despite the industrial backdrop Redcar is a very friendly track. The highlight of the racing year here is the Two Year Old Trophy in October that invariably attracts top juveniles from all over Britain. Another noteworthy prize is the Zetland Gold Cup run on Spring Bank Holiday Monday.

The course itself is left handed and runs over 1m4f with relatively tight banked bends. There is also a 3f chute that joins the track where the top bend meets the straight, providing a 1m straight course.

Redcar Racecourse Directions

Redcar Racecourse is easy to get to with excellent road networks providing easy access from the main road networks.

There is free public car parking at Redcar Racecourse, but please remember to leave plenty of time when planning your journey as the routes around the racecourse can become very busy in the lead up to gates opening and the first race. It is always better to come early and enjoy a drink at the bar than be stuck in the traffic missing the hot tip in the first race!
