Principally known as an All-Weather track, Southwell Racecourse also boasts a handful of turf fixtures under both codes and an 18-hole golf course. Laid with fibresand which rides deep, stamina-laden performers hold an advantage over their rivals. Although there is no jumping on the sand, the turf course attracts runners from many of the top yards.

Queen Mother Restaurant A quality restaurant set within the comfortable Premier Enclosure with views either trackside or over the Parade Ring. TV monitors strategically placed throughout the area ensure you never miss any of the action. This stunning restaurant is open for all fixtures and offers great food in a comfortable environment . The package is priced at £47.00 per person for standard fixtures and £52.00 per person for festival fixtures. The package includes:-

Private Suites
Southwell Racecourse offers modern private suites, set within the Premier Enclosure, that provide an ideal option for a more private raceday. Situated opposite the winning post, each private suite offers closed circuit television as well as access to a private balcony offering superb views of the entire racecourse.Suites can cater from 10-50 guests and each guest will receive a Premier Enclosure badge, a racecard, a four course lunch or dinner and use of a private suite for the duration of racing.
The Pantry:: Famous amongst the country’s regular racegoers, The Pantry offers home made food at a
reasonable price. The cottage pie and trifle are rightly acclaimed, or a bowl of home made soup is ideal for keeping out the cold if you are visiting over the winter months.
The fish And Chip Shop: Recently recommended in a Racing Post survey, Southwell’s chip shop provides a delicious range of Britain’s favourite take-away meal. The batter recipe is a closely guarded secret so you can enjoy delicious golden, crispy batter every time.
Sherwood Bar: Relax in comfort in one of the settee booths and enjoy the views of the Parade Ring or the racing on the various televisions around the bar. A traditional pub atmosphere with a full drink selection and nibbles, also serving a selection of hot snacks.
Minster Bar: Situated upstairs in the Premier Enclosure on the first floor of the Grandstand overlooking
the racecourse. It has easy access to a private viewing area on the Grandstand steps and betting facilities.
Castle Bar: A traditional English bar with a good selection of draught beers and lagers located in the heart of the Grandstand. Easy access to all betting facilities.
The Carvery: Serving hot meat rolls carved straight from the joint and a selection of hot and cold drinks.
Southwell Racecourse Directions
From the M1 South: Leave the M1 at Junction 21A and join the A46 towards Newark. Continue on the A46 to Newark, on approaching the roundabout junction with B6166 take the first exit still on the A46. At the next roundabout take the first exit onto the A617 towards Mansfield and Southwell. On approaching Southwell turn left onto Racecourse Lane and drive for 2 miles.
From M1 North: Leave the M1 at Junction 28 and join the A617 towards Mansfield. At Mansfield continue on the A617 towards Newark. Turn left onto the A612 towards Southwell. On approaching Southwell turn left onto Racecourse Lane and drive for 2 miles.
From the A1: Continue on the A1 to the Newark junction with the A46. Join the A46 towards Nottingham, at the roundabout take the third exit onto the A617 towards Mansfield and Southwell. Turn left onto the A612 signposted Southwell. On approaching Southwell turn left onto Racecourse Lane and drive for 2 miles.
