Stratford On Avon Racecourse

Many improvements have taken place on the track at Stratford On Avon Racecourse, where the bends have been banked, the water jump moved in front of the stands, a photo-finish camera installed, and the distances of the races altered. Stratford is a well established racecourse on the UK calendar, and a visit is a must for any serious racing fan.

In 1922 there were just two meetings while nowadays there are around nineteen allocated each year. The passing years have not only seen an increase in the quantity of races, but also the quality. The Garrick Jubilee instituted in 1969 joined a distinguished array of regular Stratford races, notably the Roddy Baker Gold Cup, the John Corbet Cup for the champion novice hunter’s chase, the Ladbroke Hurdle, and the Horse and Hound Cup.

A Left-handed Racecourse, particularly flat and sharp, with a short finishing straight. The track runs over 1m2f. One of the most popular country tracks, Stratford-on-Avon Racecourse attracts many visitors, particularly for the summer meetings. The highlight of the season is the two-day Intrum Justitiia Meeting in June which features the Intrum Justitia Cup, one of the season’s principal hunter chases. With a triangular circuit to navigate, the majority of successes are achieved by those horses that like to race up with the pace.

Stafford Racecourse Facilities

There are three different enclosure options for racegoers at Stratford Racecourse. Each enclosure treats guests to a first class racing experience and which ever you chose you won’t be disappointed.

Centre Course Enclosure:

This enclosure involves access to the centre of the racecourse with viewing of the racing, but without access to the paddock and Winners’ enclosure. This is a great area for a family day out as you can park and picnic with your car and gain access to the free family entertainment on offer on Summer racedays. The Course enclosure also offers fast food catering outlets and betting facilities.

Tattersalls Enclosure

This enclosure is situated on the paddock side of the racetrack and allows access to the Warwickshire grandstand on the ground floor. Access is also given to those who wish to ‘paddock watch’ as well as pre-parade ring viewing. The Tattersalls enclosure offers fast food catering outlets.

Club Enclosure
This enclosure offers access to all three enclosure areas, along with access to viewing steps and bar on the first floor of the Warwickshire grandstand. The Club enclosure offers a variety of dining options.

The Paddock Suite Restaurant (silver service, a la carte menu):
Available to Club and Tattersalls enclosure patrons. To enable diners to secure a table for the day, a package including a three-course meal & light afternoon tea must be booked. Alternatively, a three course meal alone may be booked although diners may be asked to vacate their table should a second sitting be required.

The Winning Post Restaurant:
Available to Club enclosure patrons. The restaurant is situated on the first floor of the Warwickshire Stand overlooking the Racecourse. Lunch or Dinner can be booked for £32.

Fox’s Restaurant (Hot/Cold carvery);
Available to Club and Tattersalls enclosure patrons. Table available for the day.

Stafford Racecourse Directions

Stratford Racecourse is situated off the B439 Evesham Road out of Straftord-on-Avon. For satellite navigation the postcode is CV37 9SE. By road – the racecourse is approx. 15 mins from Junction 15 of the M40 and 40 mins from Junction 7 of the M5. When you enter Stratford-on-Avon simply follow brown signs for racecourse and/or brown signs with a racehorse symbol on.

Stafford Racecourse Dress Code

While there are no designated dress codes for the Tattersalls and Course enclosures, racegoers are expected to dress in a manner so as not to offend other racegoers. The dress code for the Club enclosure is smart casual (no ripped denim or trainers please).
