Set in the heart of Central England amongst picturesque surroundings, Uttoxeter Racecourse has been home to the famous Midlands Grand National since 1969 and hosts a range jump meetings all year round. The bigger feature days are always worth a gamble. Try the glitzy Ladies Night, the Britannia Summer National or one of a series of Family Fun Days all of which have live entertainment and special packages, creating that extra special day.
Uttoxeter Racecourse Perfect for chase and hurdle meetings, a left-handed oval shaped course of one mile two and a half furlongs in circumference. The back ‘straight’ has a dog-leg to the right and is undulating as it rises over Clump Hill. The course continues with a downhill run around the far bend into the home straight.
The home straight of four furlongs is flat and galloping ensuring fair and competitive finishes to most races including the signature staying chases.
|
There are eight fences per circuit; four in the back straight and four in the home straight. The third last in the home straight is an open-ditch which is jumped at least twice in each race. The hurdle course tends to benefit from good ground conditions throughout the season and runs to the inner of the steeple chase course. There are six flights of hurdles on each circuit with a minimum of ten flights jumped in each race. |

Uttoxeter Racecourse Dress Code
People like to dress up when they come racing during the summer months, and on our themed days such as Ladies Night and Country & Western Day there is often a prize for the best dressed! However, Uttoxeter are not strict with their dress-code. For hospitality they ask that you are smart/casual and jeans are not permitted. For all enclosures they do not allow bare tops, ripped/torn jeans and football/rugby shirts.
Make every day a winner!
