Racing At Wetherby Racecourse

Yorkshire’s premier National Hunt Venue is under starter’s orders and preparing to jump into the new season, Wetherby Racecourse is an exciting and dynamic venue that you must pay a visit to. The whole thing kicks-off on Wednesday 12th October with a charity raceday in support of Spinal Research.

This is quickly followed by the prestigious bet365 Charlie Hall Steeplechase Meeting on Friday 28th & Saturday 29th October, and a further three action-packed racedays leading up to the hugely popular two-day Christmas Meeting on Monday 26th December (Boxing Day) and Tuesday 27th December.

The leading National Hunt track in Yorkshire, Wetherby’s two feature meetings are the early November fixture which features the Charlie Hall Chase and their Christmas Meeting that plays host to the Castleford Chase. This left-handed, slightly undulating track is a particularly good test for novice chasers and has featured a number of course specialists.

Wetherby Racecourse Facilities

The Premier Enclosure

Premier Enclosure badges offer access to the spectacular Wetherby Millennium Stand, which provides panoramic views of the racecourse as well as covered grandstand seating opposite the winning post.

Premier badge holders have access to the White Rose Restaurant on Level 3 of the Millennium Stand as well as a number of bars which also serve hot drinks and snacks. In addition, Premier Badge holders are able to enjoy the facilities within both the Paddock and Course enclosures.

The Paddock Enclosure

The Paddock Enclosure has a variety of bars, food outlets and mobile units offering a range of fast food and refreshments. The Bramham Hall Café & Bistro serves a range of hot dishes, snacks and sandwiches throughout the day, and you are guaranteed not to miss any of the racing action whilst in the bars, as it is displayed on the many plasma screens fitted throughout. You can enjoy the racing from the large covered grandstand or get close to the action at the last fence in the home straight.

Racegoers also have access to the busy Parade Ring, Winner’s Enclosure and the main betting ring, and to the Course Enclosure facilities. During the busy Coral Christmas Meeting Wetherby Racecourse will provide additional covered and heated bar and catering outlets within the Paddock Enclosure.

The Course Enclosure

Situated in the centre of the track, the Course Enclosure offers you an inexpensive day at the races and provides a view of the racing as well as bar and catering facilities. Entry can either be via the turnstiles or you also have the option to pay to take your vehicle into the ‘Cars to Course’ car-park.

White Rose Restaurant

The White Rose Restaurant offers an a la carte menu, fine food and excellent value for money. Situated on Level 3 of the Wetherby Millennium Stand, the Restaurant overlooks the Parade Ring and Winners’ Enclosure. Racegoers wishing to dine will require a Premier Badge to access the Restaurant, which we advise you to purchase in advance to guarantee availability.

Tables can be pre-booked in advance or we also offer tables on the day on a first-come basis. There is a £5-£10 per head surcharge to pre-book your table, but the table is then reserved for you for the entire day and you may come and go from it as you please. Tables are available for parties of 1-12 guests.

Private Suites

Luxurious private suites are available on the upper floors of the Wetherby Millennium Stand. Each suite has a private viewing balcony which presents a superb panorama of the racing action and finish post. Packages are available for between 13-250 guests.

Equidistant between Leeds, York and Harrogate, Wetherby Racecourse is conveniently situated, just minutes from the A1 and with close links to the M1 and M62.

Wetherby Racecourse Dress Code

Wetherby does not operate a formal dress code in any of the enclosures. Those racegoers who wish to use the Premier Enclosure are kindly requested to wear smart casual clothing and dress for the weather.
