Wincanton Racecourse Information
Wincanton Racecourse

Wincanton Racecourse

Wincanton Racecourse hosts 17 fixtures of quality jump racing from October through to May including a number of Feature Days and Special Events. Saturday racedays provide some of the best racing of the National Hunt season featuring a number of the top horses in the Country.

Notable racedays include the Bathwick Tyres Countryside Day in April, the evening meeting in May which includes live music after racing and Ladies Day in May which rounds off the season with a competition for the best dressed lady. One of the jewels in the National Hunt calender we really do suggest that you pay a visit to this wonderful and friendly racecourse.

Wincanton Racecourse

The steeplechase fences at Wincanton Racecourse are large, making it a good test of a chaser. Three fences in quick succession in the second half of the home-straight make for exciting racing and often change the complexion of a finish dramatically; resulting in a great many close finishes.

Although Wincanton Racecourse does not have the same profile as the major National Hunt tracks, it offers a high standard of sport. Front runners are particularly well suited to the steeplechase course as the three fences in the short home straight, give hold-up horses little time to recover lost ground.
